Zwane expresses gratitude to Kaizer Motaung

“10111” or “10 number number” as he was affectionately known during his playing days at Kaizer Chiefs. Following his move to AmaZulu FC, Arthur Zwane has taken time to pen his gratitude towards Dr Kaizer Motaung.

Usuthu announced the appointment of the legendary player on Tuesday evening as co-coach alongside Vusumuzi Vilakazi with immediate effect, to help the club perform better in the Betway Premiership.

AmaZulu President Sandile Zungu has expressed confidence in the duo sighting their experience in coaching and on the field as former professional players.

“Their combined experience as both coaches and former professional players will be crucial in developing our younger talents and guiding our seasoned players in the task ahead,” said Zungu.

Kaizer Chiefs also confirmed the move and wished Zwane the best in his new journey.Amakhosi also expressed confidence in Zwane’s ability to tackle the task ahead. The club said with his wealth of coaching experience, a strong culture of winning and a solid foundation in youth development, Zwane moves on to further his career at AmaZulu FC.

“As Kaizer Chiefs, we thank 10111 for his 24 years of service to Amakhosi and extend our best wishes to him as he embarks on this exciting new chapter with Usuthu!” said Kaizer Chiefs.

In turn, Zwane, who started his career at Amakhosi in 2000, wrote a heart-warming thank you letter to the Chairman, Dr Kaizer Motaung extending his deepest gratitude. Arthur Zwane thanked Dr. Motaung for his unwavering support, guidance and love throughout his Chiefs career as a player and a coach.

“His belief in me has allowed me to grow from a player to a development coach and ultimately to the head coach. I am truly thankful for the opportunities the Club has provided which have shaped not just my career but my life. So, thank you to Kaizer Chiefs and thank you to the Chairman,” said Arthur Zwane.

According to Kaizer Chiefs; Zwane began his career with Amakhosi as a player in 2000, retiring in 2010 after 252 appearances and helping the team collect 12 trophies. He subsequently served as an assistant coach under Vladimir Vermezovic until 2012 before switching to the Club’s development structures where he worked hard to produce some of South Africa’s top football talent. Zwane returned to the senior team in 2020 as an assistant coach, collaborating with experienced coaches Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter and Molefi Ntseki. He led the first team as head coach for one season, starting in June 2022 in the Premiership.
