The Minister for the Department of Agriculture and the Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) John Steenhuisen will today give an update on his 100 days in office in the GNU government and make further announcement regarding his mid-term plans.
Steenhuisen has come under serious attack and criticism by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) accusing him for allegedly hiring DA members who are not qualified into his department. The EFF has further downplayed any progress or achievement by Steenhuisen in his department.
During his report today, it is expected that the DA Leader will clear the air regarding the accusations by the EFF and give an update on what his department has achieved in the 100 days in office.
He will announce the DA’s top five priorities for the Government of National Unity’s (GNU) medium-term plan. John Steenhuisen will be joined by other DA Ministers and Deputy Ministers serving in the GNU.
The briefing marks 100 days of the DA in office within the GNU. The outlined priorities are aimed at growing South Africa’s economy, creating jobs, and tackling some of the country’s most pressing challenges. These include fiscal reform, energy investment, infrastructure development, and digital transformation.
