Comfortable win for Banyana Banyana

South Africa is one step closer to the Olympics after thrashing Tanzania 3-0 at the first leg of the CAF women’s Olympics qualifier at the Azam Complex Stadium on Friday, 23 February 2024. 

Banyana Banyana’s intention to win the game was clear as they scored an early goal. With a brilliant cross from the bread winner, Hildah Magaia, striker Jermaine Seoposenwe tapped the ball in scoring the first goal of the game on the 10th minute.

The game went to break with Banyana Banyana leading 1-0.

In the second half of the game, Banyana Banyana continued to dominate the Twigas stars, eventually, the paced player Thembi Kgatlana extended the African Queens’ lead on the 57th minute. The African champions were not done; Magaia, chipping the ball over the Tanzanian keeper, put the game beyond Tanzania and sealed the win for Banyana Banyana scoring the third goal on the 86th minute.

The game ended Banyana Banyana 3- 0 Tanzania.
