Russia attack on Ukraine outrageous

Following reports of Russia dropping almost 200 missiles and drones on Ukraine, the outgoing President of the United States of America (USA) Joe Biden publicly condemned the attack calling it outrageous.

According to Biden, Ukrainian authorities report that Russia launched nearly 200 missiles and drones against Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure, depriving Ukrainian civilians of access to electricity.

Joe Biden, speaking in defence of their ally and NATO partner country on Thursday, 28 November 2024, has called the attack outrageous and serves as yet another reminder of the urgency and importance of supporting the Ukrainian people in their defence against Russian aggression.

“On this day, my message to the Ukrainian people is clear: the United States stands with you. Earlier this year, and at my direction, the United States began prioritizing air defense exports so they go to Ukraine first. The Department of Defense has delivered hundreds of additional air defense missiles to Ukraine, as a consequence of this decision, and further deliveries are underway. For months, my Administration has been working to help Ukraine increase the resilience of its energy grid in preparation for the winter, and the Department of Defense continues to surge other critical capabilities to Ukraine, including artillery, rockets, and armored vehicles,” said President Biden.

The President has affirmed America’s position with Ukraine saying they are not the only country that stands by the side of Ukraine, there are more than 50 other countries supporting Ukraine in their fight for freedom. He said Russia continues to underestimate the bravery, resilience, and determination of the Ukrainian people

Russia has since condemned the US military support to Ukraine, saying the war is dragging because of the support that America is giving to their enemy in a form of weapons and money. Currently, Russia in not backing down and says they will talk about peace as soon as Ukraine withdraws their troops in the Russian region.
