Did Malema dodge a bullet?

Did Malema dodge a bullet?

It is no doubt that Julius Malema is probably the most hated and yet loved politician in South Africa, an enemy of the white establishment and supremacy. Last week was meant for his ultimate downfall as he went for his sentencing.

I could imagine Afriforum popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate his imprisonment sentencing; they were aiming for maximum sentence of 15 years behind bars. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Malema himself remained positive and optimistic in the face of adversity, confident that the CIC will sleep at home.

Indeed he got a prison sentence, but not what Afriforum was looking for, however, five years still achieved the objective of throwing Malema behind bars and ultimately destroy his political career and hopes of becoming a president of the country one day.

In my observation, I saw something interesting about this case, some of Malema’s critics, politicians from other parties and other prominent people coined this case as an attack on the revolution, an attempt to silence the revolution; that this case is nothing short of a political ploy to silence Julius Malema and the EFF.

Is this somewhat an affirmation that the EFF is a revolutionary party and that Malema himself is revolutionary?

The CIC came prepared to court for any eventuality; he brought in the big guns Advocate Laurence Hodes and Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi who appealed his sentence, they pulled him from the jaws of the beast about to devour him ensuring that he goes home to his family. Malema had other legal teams stationed in different courts just in case plan A did not work out. A chopper was waiting ready to fly the leading defence team to the next court.

Once again, despite politics, the EFF and Malema have proved to be a well-oiled machine, with military precision and diligent planning. The party and Malema almost always find a way to defeat the enemy.

The next step is to appeal the sentencing and the conviction; the case is riddled with loopholes and there is a chance that they might win it.

Many were looking forward to seeing Julius Malema gone from parliament, to silence his voice with the hope that his party will crumble soon after. For now, the CIC has dodged the bullet and instead of his enemies, he is the one pooping the champagne bottle to celebrate his victory.

However, the war is far from over, he just won the battle, I foresee a long battle ahead of him trying to get out of this one and Afriforum is going to throw everything at him as much as they possibly can.
