Toronto Hall in Welkom, in the Free State will be a hive of activity and will host the Capacity Gold Building Workshop that will be held on Wednesday 27 March 2024 and starts at 10am.
The Capacity Gold Building Workshop aims to capacitate the SMMEs (Small Medium and Micro Enterprises/ Small Businesses) around Matjhabeng and the entire Lejweleputswa District.
Valuable information will be shared focusing on the Gold business, regulations, market access, and opportunities.
The workshop aims to capacitate and formalize the minerals industry so that people can know what’s needed to participate in the mining business, enter the market, obtain a license, and the importance of compliance.
The South African Precious Minerals Regulator will be in attendance and support the workshop, they aim to stop illegal mining and make it easy to penetrate the market and open opportunities for new entrants.
The Department of Trade and Industry, South African Precious Minerals Regulator, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, Central University of Technology’s Enactus and Harmony Mine are some of the key stakeholders that will form part of the workshop.
Representatives and people from Moqhaka Municipality, Matjhabeng Municipality and Lejweleputswa districts will be in attendance.
Entry to the workshop is free and there are exhibition packages available for those who want to exhibit.
Those who are established in the gold and diamond businesses or those in the mining sector who want to showcase their work are welcome and encouraged to exhibit their work to expose themselves to various stakeholders in attendance and to new potential buyers.
The workshop is open to all people, including those from outside the Welkom and Matjhabeng areas.
“Welkom is known as the gold fields and was the perfect place to host the workshop focusing on gold and other minerals. This workshop is a must-attend as valuable knowledge will be shared by experts operating in the mining sector” said the Organisers.
