Teams through to the Nedbank Cup semi’s

The weekend was packed with exciting football in the Nedbank Cup quarter finals. Orlando Pirates alongside with other teams have made it to the semi-finals.

The weekend kick-off with a face-off between Mamelodi Sundowns and the Tuks, whereby Sundowns narrowly escaped being kicked out of the competition. The game ended with a one all draw and went to penalties; where Sundowns won 4-3 and are through to the semi-finals.

On Saturday 13 April 2024, Stellenbosch took on Supper Sport United, in the thrilling match. Stellenbosch opened the goal lines on the 7th minute of the game and maintained their lead until break. In the second half, they came back and scored three more goals putting the game beyond Supper Sport United. The game ended with Stellenbosch leading 4-0.

Still on Saturday, the confident Soweto giants Orlando Pirates faced-off with AmaZulu in Durban. AmaZulu were the first to score the first of the seven goals in the game on the 30th minute. Pirates scored an equaliser just before break on the 45th minute through a penalty. In the second half, the Sea Robbers extended their lead against AmaZulu, but shortly after scored an own goal. The score was level at 2-2.

Orlando Pirates further went on to score two more goals and won the match 4-2.

On Sunday, 14 April 2024, TS Galaxy took on Chippa United, the thrilling match saw Chippa United scoring the first goal in the 30th minute and went to break leading TS Galaxy 1-0. In the second half, TS Galaxy was awarded a penalty on the 86th minute but Chippa United goalkeeper denied them a goal. A minute later, Chippa United were awarded a penalty and they converted successfully.

Chippa United won the game 2-0 and are through to the semi-finals.
