G7 stands in solidarity with Israel

G7 member states have condemned the attack by Iran targeting Israel on 13 April 2024, the members countries, which include Canada, Japan, UK, France Germany, Italy and the United States of America expressed their solidarity and support to Israel in a joint statement.

The Leaders of the G7 say they unequivocally condemn the direct and unprecedented attack by Iran against Israel. According to the statement, Israel was able to defend itself against the large scale attacks from Iran because of the help of its alliance partners and defeated the attack.

“We express our full solidarity and support to Israel and its people and reaffirm our commitment towards its security,” read the statement.

“With its actions, Iran has further stepped toward the destabilization of the region and risks provoking an uncontrollable regional escalation. This must be avoided. We will continue to work to stabilize the situation and avoid further escalation. In this spirit, we demand that Iran and its proxies cease their attacks, and we stand ready to take further measures now and in response to further destabilizing initiatives,” said the G7.

“We will also strengthen our cooperation to end the crisis in Gaza, including by continuing to work towards an immediate and sustainable ceasefire and the release of hostages by Hamas, and deliver increased humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in need,” concluded the G7.
