The Free State MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Mr Ketso Makume is currently studying the findings of investigation into allegations of misconduct against the suspended CEO of the Free State Development of Corporation (FDC) and will later announce his future.
Following allegations of misconduct by the then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FDC, the erstwhile MEC for the Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA) Mr Thabo Meeko officially suspended the CEO on 26 March 2024 and launched an investigation into the allegations by an independent law firm.
According to the department, the investigations to determine the veracity of the allegations have been completed and a report has been submitted to MEC Makume with the necessary recommendations.
Without revealing much in a brief statement, the MEC has confirmed that he is currently studying the report and will apply his mind and subsequently announce the cause of action in due course.
