FBI to investigate assassination attempt on Trump

The FBI has confirmed the assassination attempt on the Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in the United States of America (USA) on Saturday, 13 July 2024.

It is reported that, while the former President was giving his address, an assassin took a chance on his life, however, secret service was swift to act and a sniper managed to shoot the villain.

Trump was seen bleeding from his ear. Before being whisked off to safety, he asked his bodyguards to wait a second, and he raised his fist in the air to affirm that he is fine to the crowds and determined to continue with his campaign. But secret service could not wait any longer and was rushed off the stage to safety.

“The FBI has assumed the role of the lead federal law enforcement agency in the investigation of the incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred earlier today in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Special agents of the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office responded immediately, to include crisis response team members and evidence response technicians.

We will continue to support this investigation with the full resources of the FBI, alongside our partners at the U.S. Secret Service and state and local law enforcement. Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is asked to call our tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI,” said the FBI.
