Chiefs celebrate Kune with goalless draw

In what was meant to be the highlight moment for the legendary goalkeeper for Kaizer Chiefs, Itumeleng Kune, in celebration of being the longest serving player at the club, the Glamour Boys were rather disappointing.

Amakhosi went up against Polokwane City on Saturday, 18 May 2024, in a match dedicated to Kune celebrating his 25 years of service. Both teams went into the game careful not to lose their current positions on the DSTV PSL log.

The teams hardly showed any ambition to win the game but rather were playing it safe. The first half ended with a goalless draw, which was maintained until the final whistle.

Itumeleng Kune had a run on the dying moments of the game, to once again show case his skills; but the match lacked urgency and determination to a point that he only touched the ball a few times under no pressure at all.

Kaizer Chiefs is sitting eighth on the log with 36 points, with just one goal difference ahead AmaZulu and Polokwane City who both have 36 points.
