The Soweto giant Kaizer Chiefs was sent home with its tail between its legs after Siwelele secured the game in the first half in Bloemfontein, on Wednesday night.
Siwelele was intent on winning the game and went on an offensive from the first whistle. Amakhosi however seemed to have entered the game thinking they have already won the game following a streak of wins; but Siwelele put their glory days to an abrupt end.
The Glamour Boys kicked off the game, soon after Siwelele was in possession of the ball and was making worrisome runs at the visitors in search of an early goal, and on the 6th minute, Siwelele found the net but it was an offside.
A minute later, Siwelele was attacking with Ghampani Lungu cutting back into the box finding Manelisi Mazibuko who fired a shot at goal, however, goalkeeper Brandon Petersen was up for the task stopping the ball, deflecting back into play meeting Potsane who registered the first goal of the match on the 7th minute.
Siwelele was not done yet, exposing the defence line of Kaizer Chiefs that was running facing its own goal posts, Lungu broke free and made a crucial pass across from the left finding Jeza in the middle, who blasted the ball past Petersen find the net on the 26th minute.
The game went to break with Siwelele leading 2-0.
In the second half, the hosts showed intention to extend their lead; they made threating shots at goal but were unable to convert. Kaizer Chiefs tried to pull one back and or even equalise, but their efforts were all futile and were running out time fast. Amakhosi made a few attempts at goal, but the Siwelele keeper made sure to keep a clean sheet.
The referee blew his final whistle and the game ended with Siwelele leading 2-0.
Siwelele is number 9 on the Betway PSL log with 32 points and Chiefs is third on the log with 47 points. Mamelodi Sundowns is now at the top of the league with 61 points after beating Polokwane City FC 1-0 who is 6th on the log with 37 points.
