FS Chairperson Kopane resigns from ActionSA

The Free State Chairperson of ActionSA Ms Patricia Kopane has confirmed to The Business Weekly that she has tendered her resignation as member of the party with immediate effect.

In her letter dated 3 February 2026, Kopane formally resigned from the party sighting medical reasons, she said she will no longer be able to continue with her work effectively due to her medical condition and as per the advice by her doctor.

She said she recently had a medical procedure and it has become evident that her recovery will require extended care and focused attention.

“On medical advice, I am unable to continue executing my responsibilities at the level required by the organisation. In light of this, I have taken the considered decision to step aside in order to prioritise my health and well-being,” she said in her letter.

“This decision is taken with respect for ActionSA and its leadership. It is not motivated by any disagreement, dispute, or dissatisfaction with the organisation, its structures, or its values. I remain appreciative of the opportunity to have served within the movement and of the trust placed in me during my tenure.

I thank the Provincial Executive Committee and all members for their support and cooperation, and I wish ActionSA continued success in its mission to advance ethical leadership, accountability, and service to the people of South Africa,” said former Chairperson of ActionSA.
