Steenhuisen to tackle youth unemployment

Youth unemployment has come under the spotlight as it soars to concerning heights. More than three decades into democracy, the country is still battling the pressing issues of poverty, inequality and unemployment.

The Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) Mr John Steenhuisen will today address the crowds in Mpumalanga in commemoration of Youth Day; he is set to address the scourge of unemployment amongst the youth.

According to Steenhuisen, the youth of South Africa is facing an unprecedented crisis with youth unemployment soaring to 60%. The DA says its Federal Leader John Steenhuisen, will address hundreds of youth in attendance at a rally on the important choices they need to make on who can lead them, and this Country, to ensure the economy grows, and that jobs and opportunities are created for all.

“Where the DA governs, opportunity flourishes. A year into the Government of National Unity, DA ministers and deputy ministers have made significant impact in their departments and there are promising green shoots — but much more remains to be done.

The DA is the only party that can save the youth of South Africa, by providing them with access to opportunity, dignity and hope,” said Steenhuisen.

Steenhuisen will be joined by DA Deputy Federal Chairperson Solly Malatsi,
DA Acting Federal Youth Leader Ndipiwe Olayi, DA Mpumalanga Provincial Leader Jane Sithole, DA Acting Federal Youth Chairperson Luvo Vimbani, DA Mpumalanga Provincial Chairperson Bosman Grobler and DA Mpumalanga Youth Chairperson Marcus Mdawe.

The rally will kick off with a march from Masoyi Home Based Care, Mahushu Station at 10am, the rally will then be held at Sabelosethu Sports ground, Mahushu at 11am.
