The victory marks a fifth successive win across all competitions for the Brazilians, showcasing a squad that is steadily hitting its stride.
For Siwelele, the transition under caretaker coach Godfrey Mosoetsa failed to yield the immediate turnaround supporters craved following the departure of Lehlohonolo Seema earlier in the week. Stuck in 15th place on the log and still searching for their first win after six matches, the Bloemfontein outfit faces an uphill battle to turn their campaign around.
The opening forty-five minutes painted a picture of total Sundowns dominance matched with uncharacteristic wastefulness in the final third. The hosts controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, carving out early openings that went unpunished.
Cassius Mailula dragged an effort wide of the mark, while Brayan Leon was denied brilliantly by visiting goalkeeper Wandile Mthombeni. Deep into injury time, fellow substitute Tashreeq Matthews applied the gloss to the score-line, pouncing on yet another Siwelele error before executing a delicate chip over Mthombeni to wrap up a comprehensive 3-0 triumph.
