Siwelele FC Part Ways with Head Coach Lehlohonolo Seema After Disappointing Start to Season

BLOEMFONTEIN — Siwelele FC have parted ways with Head Coach Lehlohonolo Seema and Assistant Coach Willem Jackson following a disastrous opening to their 2026/27 campaign.

The Bloemfontein-based outfit confirmed the major managerial shake-up in an official media statement issued on Monday by Club Chairman Calvin le John.

The decision comes amidst a period of comprehensive internal assessment, with the club hierarchy opting to strip the coaching duo of their first-team duties while a formal review of the senior team’s performance and overall technical programme is carried out.

In the interim, Godfrey Mosoetsa has been appointed as Caretaker Coach with immediate effect, tasked with steadying the ship and restoring order on the pitch.

Acknowledging the frustration surrounding the team’s current form, Chairman Calvin le John expressed the club’s empathy towards their fan-base, emphasizing that drastic measures were necessary to restore standards.

“This has been a challenging period for the club, and our supporters deserve better than what they have seen so far this season,” Le John stated. “Our belief in this team, in our players, and in what we are building at Siwelele remains unchanged.”

Call for Unity Amid Crisis

Despite the sudden overhaul, the club leadership remains firm in its long-term strategy, calling on the Siwelele faithful to rally behind the squad during this transitional period.

“This is a moment to stand together, to work harder, and to embody the spirit that defines this club: courage, unity, and fighting for one another,” the statement read. “Our season is still young. We will face the challenge in front of us together, as one team and one family.”

The club has kept its future plans under wraps for now, indicating that a permanent resolution regarding the technical structure will only be made public once the comprehensive review process is finalized.

“The club will make a further announcement on the coaching approach for the remainder of the season once the review has been concluded,” the statement noted, adding that no further public commentary will be offered while the process remains underway.

With the iconic motto “Siwelele sa Masele. Together, we rise,” echoing as the club’s rallying cry, all eyes will now be on Godfrey Mosoetsa as he looks to inspire a swift turnaround in fortunes.
