The Multi-Party Women’s Caucus (MPWC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature has formally acknowledged the departure of Honourable Ayanda Allie, following Build One South Africa’s (BOSA) decision to terminate her party membership after an internal disciplinary hearing.
The Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Communications Unit on behalf of MPWC Chairperson Dr. Nomathemba Mokgethi, the parliamentary body expressed its gratitude for Allie’s contributions during her tenure in public office.
Allie served as BOSA’s sole representative in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature and held a position on the MPWC Executive Committee. Throughout her time in office, she played a vital role in furthering caucus initiatives and championing female empowerment within the legislature.
While emphasizing that internal disciplinary matters fall strictly within the domain of individual political organizations, the MPWC reaffirmed its broader mandate regarding the treatment and position of female public officials. The body noted that women in political leadership frequently encounter gender-specific hurdles, underscoring its ongoing commitment to ensuring political environments remain grounded in equity, fairness, and mutual respect.
“The Multi-Party Women’s Caucus remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting the dignity, equality and meaningful participation of women in public office,” said Mokgethi, highlighting the caucus’s dedicated efforts toward supporting female leadership across party lines.
Commending her dedication to public duty, the MPWC voiced confidence that Allie will continue serving marginalized communities outside her legislative role. The caucus closed its statement by wishing Allie well in her future endeavours while reiterating its mission to advance women’s representation across all political spheres.
