The Federal Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) Mr John Steenhuisen will today be meeting with small scale farmers in ward 2 of Cederberg where the DA will be contesting the upcoming by-elections.
Cederberg has been badly affected by recent floods that eroded road infrastructure in the area. Farmers are feeling the pinch of the after math and effects of climate change as it affected their crops and livelihood.
Steenhuisen is expected to engage with small scale farmers as they try to pick up pieces and rebuild their livelihood. He is expected to discuss the impact the Government of National Unity (GNU) has on the agriculture industry and the South African economy.
John Steenhuisen will be joined by DA Cederberg Constituency Head, Bonginkosi Madikizela, Constituency Chairperson, Jeffrey Schalk, Regional Chairperson, Koos Steyn, Cederberg Councillor, Leone Venter and Ward 2 Councillor Candidate, Yves Blaaw.
The DA Leader will meet with the farmers at Goede Hoop Citrus at 11:30am.
