The Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Leader and the Government of National Unity (GNU) Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen MP will on Saturday, 8 February 2025, lead oversight visits to various areas in the Free State to engage with communities and bring the focus of the national government to urgent issues including stock theft, infrastructure challenges, and border security.
Steenhuisen will be joined by the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Police, Ian Cameron MP, DA Free State Spokesperson on Police Roy Jankielsohn MPL, DA Free State Provincial Chairperson Werner Horn MP, DA Free State Provincial Deputy Chairperson Jafta Mokoena MPL, and DA Free State Provincial Finance Chairperson David van Vuuren MPL.
His visits will commence from Mangaung and conclude near the Lesotho border. His schedule will be as follows:
First Engagement:
Meeting with local farmers on stock theft.
