The Democratic Alliance (DA) has confirmed to The Business Weekly that budget negotiations are on-going and the final results will only be known once the meetings conclude.
Charity McCord, the DA’s Media Manager confirmed that the DA Leader John Steenhuisen, who postponed his media briefing on Tuesday morning, met with President Cyril Ramaphosa mid-day to continue budget negotiations ahead of the budget vote in Parliament on Wednesday, 2 April 2025.
McCord said there has been a series of meetings between the African National Congress (ANC) and the DA, the two large parties in the Government of National Unity (GNU) to try and find each other before the budget vote; in the meantime, both parties are playing their cards close to their chests.
