The long awaited announcement has finally come, the nation will this evening found out who will constitute the government of national unity (GNU). According to the Presidency, Ramaphosa will announce a government that entails multiple parties.

As negotiations were on-going, letters have been leaked to the public in which the DA had its own demands, responding to the letter of the DA, President Cyril Ramaphosa said the attitude of the DA is condescending and their demands unreasonable.

On the other hand, the EFF has cautioned the ANC from working with the DA saying that will undermine the democratic gains made over the years. The EFF made a counter offer proposing a new statement of intent that will entail the ANC and EFF, leaving out the DA and FF Plus.

The PA has also made its demands; they want to occupy the Home Affairs or Police portfolio.

All eyes are on the announcement tonight at 9pm to hear on which direction the country will take. Will the ANC go right or left? Who will get which position? Will Ramaphosa give the DA what it demanded or will we witness something completely different this evening? Will the EFF form part of the administration? We wait and see.
