Mpho Sikisi appointed Free State Premier Spokesperson

The Free State Office of the Premier (OTP) has on Thursday, 5 March 2026, officially announced the appointment Mrs Mpho Sikisi as the new Spokesperson to the Premier and by extension and that of the Free State Provincial Government (FSPG).

According to the Acting Spokesperson for FSPG, Mr Setjhaba Maphalla, Mrs. Sikisi steps into the pivotal role backed by a wealth of experience in public communication, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Maphalla said Sikisi’s role as Spokesperson to Premier Ms MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae, will be responsible for coordinating communication between the Executive Authority, the OTP, the media and the public, ensuring that government programmes and priorities are communicated effectively and transparently.

Premier Letsoha-Mathae stated that this appointment will help maintain strong and responsive communication, which is vital for strengthening the relationship between the government and the people of the Free State.

“Communication remains fundamental to maintaining public trust and fostering a collaborative relationship between the provincial government and the citizens of the Free State,” said Premier Letsoha-Mathae.

Mpho Sikisi assumes her full responsibilities with immediate effect.

The FSPG has since extended a warm welcome to Sikisi and wishes her success in her new and important role.
