Mayor Nthatisi congratulates Marumo Gallants FC

The Bloemfontein based Marumo Gallants FC will this Sunday, 10 November 2024, go up against the unstoppable football giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals of the Carling Black Label Cup.

With some of the big clubs in the country being knocked out of the tournament, Marumo Gallants has remarkably made to the semi-finals and will be playing a home game this Sunday against the Brazilians.

The Executive Mayor for Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality (MMM) Cllr Gregory Nthatisi in acknowledgement of this milestone achievement extended his heartfelt congratulatory message to the club.

Nthatisi says the achievement does not only highlight the dedication and skill of Marumo Gallants FC, but also brings immense pride to the City. He said the City will benefit from the economic spin-offs from the game as many fans will descend to Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein; resulting in a huge economic boost for local businesses.

“Hosting events of this nature; not only showcases our vibrant sporting culture but also stimulates local businesses and generates opportunities for economic growth and development within our community.

As a sport mecca City, we take immense pride in our unwavering support for sporting events that bring our community together and uplift the spirit of our residents. We look forward to an exciting and unforgettable match that will further cement Mangaung’s reputation as a hub of sporting excellence,” said Executive Mayor Cllr Gregory Nthatisi.

The game will kick-off at 15: 00 at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.
