MaltiChoice honoured with Ubuntu Award

MaltiChoice has earned its accolade at the Ubuntu Award ceremony on 10 February 2024, in Cape Town at the International Convention Centre; for its outstanding portraying of a good image of South Africa across the globe.

The Minister for the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) Dr Naledi Pandor, recognized MaltiChoice for their role in amplifying the positive image of South Africa on the African continent and across the globe. The company exhibited exceptional economic diplomacy and was recognised for its remarkable contribution to the image of the country.

Pandor presented the Group CEO of MaltiChoice Calvo Mawela, with the Ubuntu Award for Economic Diplomacy in Africa. Mawela said MaltiChoice is honoured to have received the prestigious award.

“I am deeply honored to accept the Ubuntu Award in the Economic Diplomacy in Africa category on behalf of MultiChoice. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to projecting a positive image of South Africa internationally through our endeavors in the African continent,” said Calvo Mawela.

The event was attended by captains of industry, civil society leaders, members of the Cabinet and eminent persons, Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to South Africa.

The Ubuntu Awards were launched in 2015 to celebrate South African citizens who play an active role in projecting a positive image of South Africa internationally through diligent service in their respective fields.
