The Democratic Alliance (DA), led by its Leader Mr John Steenhuisen will today, Friday, 6 December 2024, host a response to the country’s escalating clean water supply crisis plaguing the country outside the South Hills Water Tower in Johannesburg at 11am.
Steenhuisen says poor infrastructure maintenance, corruption, and municipal collapse have compromised the reliability of supply in hundreds of towns across South Africa.
“The situation is worsening daily as taps run dry in multiple new locations,” said John Steenhuisen.
Steenhuisen will be joined by DA representatives from several provinces experiencing dire water challenges, including:
