Bafana Bafana will go into tonight’s match confident following their massive decisive win against the same opponent Congo Brazzaville in their away African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier game.
The win in Gqeberha has not run into the Bafana Bafana Coach’s head, Hugo Broos said they will be going into the match as if playing for the first time with Congo and forget about their win last week.
The Coach said he is expecting a different Congo tonight, a motivated team that will fight to stay alive and in the tournament, because should they lose tonight, they are out. The 5-0 win over the Congolese should not occupy South Africa’s mind but they must expect a tough match tonight.
“If they lose tomorrow, qualification for AFCON is over for them. We know what to expect tomorrow against Congo Brazzaville. We are going to play against a team that may be different, and motivated. Tomorrow is a new game,” said Broos.
Tonight’s match will be a testing moment for Bafana Bafana, to see if they can keep up the great performance they displayed before, if they can go into the match focused on the game and winning and not take their opponents for granted since they beat them 5-0 not so long ago.
The match will kick off at 18: 00 South African time at the 17 000-seater Stade Alphonse Massamba-Debat.
