Since Donald Trump assumed Presidency in the US, he has been on a mission to conquer the world; he wants every knee to bow to him in submission as the great global modern emperor.
Trump wants to be swift in subduing the world, probably faster than Alexandra the great who conquered the known world then in just three years. However, it seems the United States’ President lacks strategy and tact in what he is doing.
Some, if not most of his actions are misinformed and miscalculated; he not only poses a threat to the globe but to his country as well. It seems power has gotten to his head so much that he has assumed the role of being president of the world, interfering in domestic issues of other sovereign states.
Lately he signed an executive order freezing financial aid towards South Africa, saying the country has enacted racist laws that discriminate against the native minority, the Afrikaners, by seizing their land without compensation, he further offered the Afrikaners refugee status in America.
But the real issue behind all of this came out in the executive order, is that South Africa stood with Hamas, and not with USA ally Israel, of which Trump says South Africa took an aggressive position against America and its allies, further dragging Israel to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) which later resulting in it issuing a warrant of arrest for Benjamin Netanyahu.
Donald Trump’s threats to Africa will have serious negative effects on people on the ground, he is out to make his presents felt and anyone who says or does anything contrary to the fancy of America will be punished.
Trump further imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), he withdrew from international bodies including WHO and the UN Human Rights Council, threatened BRICS with 100% tariffs increase should they attempt to ditch the Dollar. What the President seems to fail to understand is that, no country is an island.
As much as he wants to exact power, he is annihilating his own country, he is creating enemies everywhere and with everyone, he is reckless in his approach to things. Relationship management is not his priority, he interferes in domestic matters of other countries without proper information and taking uncalculated swift decisions that can only make one wonder if he does listen to counsel or not.
Should global leaders, especially in Africa decide to withhold their minerals from America; its economy will suffer greatly. Life is interdependent, we need each other as countries, for political and trade relations, we cannot live in isolation in a global society.
I therefore see a very short term of office for Donald Trump, should he continue on this path, even his own people will start calling for him to step down. He is too focused on what happens in other countries more than what happens in his own country; he wants to colonise the world and create a name for himself that he made America great.
