By Stellenbosch FC has come out victors after a tough match against the Sea Robbers on their home ground beating them with a professional score on Sunday, 1 December 2024, at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Both teams failed to get an early goal when the game kicked off. Orlando Pirates was threatening with great runs and passes but could not convert their opportunities. The Stellies on the other hand, were rewarded for their efforts on the 33rd minute scoring the sole goal of the game.
Pirate searched for an equaliser in the first half but could not find; the teams went to break with Stellenbosch up 1-0.
In the second half, Stellenbosch sought to extend their lead while Up the Bucks were looking to get back into the game, Pirates came on strong and numerous chances, even hitting the cross bar but it was not a good day for them. All the Stellies had to do not was to stay put and defend the one lead they have, and they succeeded; the referee blew the last whistle and collected maximum points over Orlando Pirates.
