
Bloemfontein soccer fans are jubilant with the news that Bloemfontein Celtics will be making its return to its home as Royal AM will go under the hammer on 14 March 2025.

Without revealing much, the Minister for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation Mr Gayton McKenzie said on his X account there are a number of interested parties bidding for Royal AM, however, a deal has already been concluded and that Siwelele is definitely going to the Free State.
McKenzie said he can’t reveal much due to the signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Mr Jacos Venter, the Curator for South African Revenue Services (SARS) has issued a notice putting up the troubled soccer team up for sale recoup R40 million worth owed tax by the club owner Ms Shauwn Mkhize.
Bidders will have a chance at the club from 8am to 1pm on Friday next week; the winner will be announced on 17 March 2025.
Though this may be good news for the fans in Bloemfontein, it may be bad news for Marumo Gallants, the arrivals in Bloemfontein as the focus of fans may shift to Bloemfontein Celtics, as show their loyalty to their favourite and home brewed club.
