By Following complains by local farmers in Springfontein in Kopanong Local Municipality, regarding the pollution of rivers in the area, the Deputy Minister for the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) Mr Sello Seitlholo will visit the Free State province to assess the situation.
Rivers play an integral part in the agricultural sector, and the Free State is an agricultural province. Farmers have alluded that farming activity has been affected due to polluted rivers in Springfontein.
The Deputy Minister will on Saturday 5 October 2024, head down to the area where he will meet with the affected farmers, officials from Kopanong Local Municipality and other stakeholders affected by the pollution to come up with solutions.
The gathering is set to take place at Springfield farm at 10am.
