Re Phethile Art Production partners with government

On 1 February 2026, Re Phethile Art Production had the esteemed honour of hosting officials from the Free State Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation; Mr. Kgoitsimang Pholo and Mr. Styx Mokejane, accompanied by theatre practitioners Mr. Bularah Chopo, Mr. Moeketsi Kgotle, and Ms. Kekeletso Matlabe.

The officials visited the production to rehearse and conduct a workshop with the Re Phethile Art Production Team.

The visit was filled with a variety of activities, including singing and script rehearsals. Three talented cast members, Mbalenhle Zondo, Mlungisi Zim, and Tumelo Nhlapo, were selected to perform in a theatre script, which will be directed by the accomplished Mr. Lechaba Shabalala.

In response to the visit, Lekgutsa Mbele, Director of Re Phethile Art Production, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Free State Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Free State Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation for visiting Re Phethile Art Production,” he said.

“This visit is a testament to the potential that our production has to showcase the talent and creativity of Thabo Mofutsanyana and Dihlabeng, and to put the Flag of Free State on the map,” He continued.

Mbele congratulated the selected cast members and wished them success in their partnership with the department.

“To those who have been selected to work with the department, I wish you all the best and success in this partnership. We are excited to embark on this journey together and look forward to the opportunities that this collaboration will bring,” Mbele congratulated.

Lekgutsa Mbele emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating that it will not only benefit Re Phethile Art Production but also contribute to the growth and development of arts and culture in the region.

“We appreciate the department’s support and look forward to working closely with them to achieve our goals. We are confident that this partnership will not only benefit our production but also contribute to the growth and development of arts and culture in our region,” said the Director of the Production.

He said Re Phethile Art Production looks forward to a fruitful and successful partnership with the Free State Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation.
