Orlando Pirates is well on its way to second position on the log with just three points behind Stellenbosch FC after winning their match yesterday against Cape Town City FC.
The combination between Relebohile Mofokeng and Tshegofatso Mabasa proved effective for the Sea Robbers as they were a headache for Cape Town City catching them off guard now and then.
Cape Town City kicked off the game in the first half, both teams took time to warm up to the game with minimum scoring opportunities created. The teams went to break with a goalless draw.
In the second half, Pirates came back strong with determination; Mofokeng spotting Mabasa who was making a brilliant run through two defenders, Mofokeng with a brilliant pass reaching Mabasa, who in turn with his educated left foot scored the opener on the 58th minute.
Cape Town City searched for an equaliser but it was not meant to be. The sensational combination was not done; Mofokeng once again spotting Mabasa in the box and making that accurate pass, with a first time touch, Mabasa scored the second and winner for Orlando Pirates on the 72nd minute.
Orland Pirates won the game 2-0.
