The Department of Education in the Free State is assuring its employees that they will not lose their Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS) as Treasury will make all necessary payments to third party service providers.
Employees in the Department of Education can now breathe a sigh of relief as the department has come out to affirm them that there will be no disruption to the GEMS benefits.
“We remain committed to fulfilling our legal obligations to GEMS and ensuring that our employees receive the benefits they deserve. Furthermore, we have received confirmation from Provincial Treasury that all necessary payments to third-party providers will be made within the first 14 days of April 2025, ensuring seamless continuity of services,” said Howard Ndaba, the provincial Spokesperson of the Department of Education.
“We value the hard work and dedication of our employees and are committed to supporting their well-being through our benefits program,” he concluded.
