Just days later, Chippa United had to relive another beating from Orlando Pirates last night at Orlando Stadium during their DSTV PSL game.
Chippa United kicked off the game, but soon the Buccaneers dominated the game determined to record their fifth win in a row. Chippa needed to redeem themselves after losing 3-1 to Pirates in the Nedbank Cup last week Saturday, but that was not meant to be.
From a cross across the box, Tshegofatso Mabasa tapped in the ball past the keeper scoring an opener for the Sea Robbers on the 36th minute. Four minutes later, the same cross across the Chippa United box was repeated, but no Pirates foot was there to tap the ball in. catching the ball on the other side of the box and trying to make another cross, Chippa United made an error which resulted into a penalty.
Mabasa stepped up to take the penalty; he successfully converted on the 42nd minute.
The game went to break with Orlando Pirates leading 2-0.
In the Second half, the Buccaneers wanted to increase their lead with threatening shots at goal, but they were successfully halted. Chippa United also made some runs at Pirates creating scoring chances, but they were not successful.
Pirates won the game 2-0.
Orlando Pirates is just one point behind Stellenbosch in third place on the DSTV PSL log.
