The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ngwathe Municipality, Parys is mourning the death of DA Councillor Arnold Schoonwinkel. The party has described him as a respected and long-serving councillor in the Ngwathe Municipal Council.
DA Councillor in Ngwathe Municipality Carina Serfontein says Arnold was a stalwart of the Democratic Alliance and a highly regarded community leader whose commitment to public service and the well-being of the community will not be forgotten.
“Throughout his years of dedicated service since the early 2000’s, Arnold exemplified integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the people he served.
His leadership, wisdom, and tireless efforts made a lasting difference in the lives of many.
His knowledge and contributions to the Financial Portfolio and Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) were enormous and benefitted the whole of Ngwathe municipality.
During this difficult time, we extend our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy will live on in the community he loved and faithfully served,” said Cllr Serfontein.
