By SWANEVILLE — In a targeted push to address structural unemployment, enhance food security, and transition vulnerable households from state dependency into active market participants, the Gauteng Department of Social Development, alongside the Rebafenyi Development Centre, is advancing its grassroots economic development strategy in Swaneville.
The department is convening approximately 200 graduates from the Agri-Youth Skills Development Programme. The initiative directly targets women and youth—demographics historically face systemic barriers to capital, market access, and commercial agricultural participation—by equipping them with targeted technical skills, enterprise training, and cooperative development frameworks.
