CENTLEC has dismissed claims that are making the rounds on social media that it is being investing by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) which stormed its offices and confiscated equipment.
CENTLEC says the report by a certain person; a so called “whistle blower” going by the name of Patricia Morgan Mashale on social media claiming to expose corruption at CENTLEC are misleading.
According to Lele Mamatu, the Spokesperson for CENTLEC, Patricia earlier posted on Facebook that SIC stormed the premises of CENTLEC and confiscated laptop computers, documents and information that, according to her, would be useful in their investigation.
Mamatu has since refuted such claims.
“Neither the South African Police Services (SAPS) or the Special Investing Unit (SIU) had visited our premises nor confiscated any of the above mentioned items including documents. These malicious statements are false and clearly intended to do nothing else but mislead, and create unnecessary chaos.
We appeal to members of the community to ignore and desist from circulating these baseless and fake news,” said Lele Mamatu.
