Brazilians collect three points

Though Mamelodi Sundowns won the game against Royal AM last night at Loftus Versfeld Stadium; their game was short of impressive compared to last season’s performance.

From an early mistake by Royal AM just outside their box, coming from behind Sphelele Mkhulise stole the ball racing into the box and slotted the ball past the keeper and into the net on the 6th minute of the game.

The Brazilians maintained their 1-0 lead throughout the first half; on the other hand, Royal AM kept searching for an equaliser but ran out of time.

The teams went to break with Sundowns in the lead.

In the second, though their play was not impressive, Khuliso Mdau managed to extend the lead for the Brazilians on the 85th minute. But Royal AM still had some fighting power left in them and it paid off as they pulled one back through Sbangani Zulu on 90+2.

Mamelodi Sundowns won the game 2-1.

The referee blew the last whistle and Ka bo Yellow collected all three points and is number one on the log with 12 points, with Orlando Pirates breathing down its neck. Royal AM is number nine on the log with just 4 points.
