Orlando Pirates announced the passing away of the legendary coach, scouter and administrator Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala (75) on Thursday, 11 July 2024.
Bra Stan died in hospital while fighting for his life after he was shot during a break-in at home in March. According to the announcement, Bra Stan succumbed to the injuries sustained during the incident.
Tshabalala had a decorated career in the soccer fraternity; he is a former coach for Bafana Bafana, and Mamelodi Sundowns.
“The Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates Family are announcing the sad and untimely passing of Stanley Tshabalala this afternoon in hospital. Bra Stan, as he was affectionately referred to by everybody, succumbed to the injuries he suffered when he was shot in March this year.
The Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates Family will furnish the details in due course. The public is advised to await the provision of the details for the arrangements going forward,” said Orlando Pirates.
Since the announcement, messages of condolences have been pouring in to comfort the family, friends and fans.
