The stage is set, the morale is high and Coach Desiree Ellis is happy with the first session of training of Banyana Banyana ahead of their clash with Nigeria.
The African Queens are ready to take on Nigeria in the much anticipated match fourth round of the CAF Women’s Olympics qualifier on 5 April 2024. The squad will travel to Abuja for their away game in the first leg.
The pressure is on as the team that wins, will jet off to Paris for the Olympics. Coach Ellis has by far been forced to make two replacements. Goalkeeper Andile Dlamini withdrew from the squad due to medical reasons, while Samkelisiwe Selana has also been withdrawn due to an injury.
Dlamini is replaced by Regirl Ngobeni while Selana is replaced by Mmabatho Mogale of JVW FC.
The WAFCON Champions will face Nigeria on home soil on 9 April 2024.
