By The Betway Premiership returns on Tuesday as Kaizer Chiefs put the final touches on their preparations to host Stellenbosch FC at the FNB Stadium. This clash follows a three-week pause caused by FIFA-sanctioned international fixtures.
Coach Fernando Da Cruz noted that the break offered the squad much-needed rest during a demanding period while allowing them to sharpen key elements of their strategy. The Glamour Boys face a gruelling stretch of five matches in just 17 days this October, navigating commitments across the Betway Premiership, CAF Confederation Cup, Carling Knockout, and the upcoming Soweto Derby.
“We are happy to be back on the field and look forward to an intense month that includes travel to Zambia and Durban,” Da Cruz said. He also emphasized the significance of the fixture for Chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung, who celebrates his birthday this week. “We must make sure we show up and give him the best birthday present by performing well in the upcoming games, starting with Tuesday’s match against Stellenbosch”.
Chiefs enter the fixture in fourth place on the league table with 13 points from seven matches, while Stellenbosch sits in seventh position with eight points from the same number of games. Expect a fiercely contested battle, as both sides are eager to claim maximum points.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30. Supporters wishing to attend can purchase tickets priced at R80 through the MyTicket app or nationwide at Shoprite and Checkers outlets.
