PRETORIA – The Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIA SA) has honoured Auditor General (AG), Tsakani Maluleke, with its IISA SA 2025 Chairman’s Award for her “exceptional contribution to advancing governance and accountability in South Africa”.
In honouring the AG, the institute says: “This special recognition is awarded to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to advancing governance and accountability in South Africa.
“Your leadership as the Auditor-General and the governance reforms you have championed have significantly strengthened public sector integrity and transparency, leaving a lasting impact on our country.”
Maluleke says she is honoured to receive the award recognition of the AGSA efforts and contribution towards the advancement of and the collective drive towards wholesale good governance in our country, especially the public sector.
“When we were given the once-in-a-lifetime privilege and task to lead the country’s supreme audit institution, the main focus has always been to make a contribution towards helping to strengthen South Africa’s democracy by enabling sound oversight, accountability and good governance. It is encouraging that my colleagues in the industry have noticed our efforts.
“While the award is in my name, I accept it on behalf of #TeamAGSA, the dedicated team that I am privileged to lead – they are the ones who continue to implement the vision we collectively have for our office and our country. We work together, and all of us do the sterling work that is being recognised by the IIA SA,” concluded Maluleke.
The IIA SA is part of an international network representing the interests of internal auditors worldwide.
