ANC refutes allegations of division

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Free State Province has dismissed claims that it is plagued with division and infighting, instead, it says, the organisation remains united and focused.

The ANC says it has noted with concern a series of recent media reports containing unsubstantiated allegations seeking to sustain a narrative of a divided and fighting organisation in the Free State.

The Spokesperson for the party Thabo Meeko said the ANC remains united, cohering in its unwavering commitment to deliver on the task of fixing local government and transforming the economy.

Meeko, responding to the claims, he said the successful hosting of the ANC’s January 8th Anniversary Celebration in Trompsburg, stands as a testament to the resilience of their structures and the enduring support of the masses.

He said the decision to integrate Cde MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae as part of officials has succeeded to entrench coherence between ANC and Government in line with their renewal project. Meeko says the ANC structures appreciate the energy exhibited by Provincial Government and are fully behind its plan to turn the tide around service delivery.

“We view attempts to fabricate crises and sow discord through anonymous sources and unfounded allegations as a distraction from the real work at hand. The ANC in the Free State is not defined by gossip or factional intrigue but by its capacity to govern effectively and deliver tangible improvements in the lives of our people.

Our internal processes are robust and capable of addressing any genuine organisational contradictions should they arise, with the necessary discipline and confidentiality. In this spirit, we issue a clarion call to all our alliance partners, civil society formations, business community, and the people of the Free State at large that they should not be deterred by hot noise.

Remain steadfast and focused on the people’s agenda. We urge all social partners to join hands with the ANC-led provincial government as led by Premier MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae and rally behind efforts to implement the elections manifesto,” said Thabo Meeko.

“ANC structures are united in purpose, disciplined in action, and forever devoted to the cause of the people. We will not be swayed from our historic mission,” he concluded.
