Reitway Global Shifts AMETF to Daily Disclosure on JSE Alongside Amalgamation

Johannesburg — In a significant development for South Africa’s listed investment product landscape, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) has announced that the Reitway Global Property Prescient Actively Managed Exchange Traded Fund (RWAGP) has converted to a daily disclosed Actively Managed Exchange Traded Fund (AMETF).

The transition marks a pivotal operational shift for the fund, which has traded on the bourses since September 2023. Alongside the conversion to a daily disclosure model, the Reitway Global Property Diversified Prescient ETF (RWDVF) has been officially amalgamated into RWAGP, effective 21 October 2026.

Enhanced Transparency Meets Active Management

Previously operating under a quarterly disclosed model, RWAGP will now provide investors with daily transparency through a portfolio composition file. This structural evolution allows market participants to view underlying investments daily while retaining the core advantages of active management.

The fund provides rand-denominated exposure to global listed property, continuing to trade under the share code RWAGP. Managed by Reitway Global, the portfolio relies on a fundamental, research-driven investment approach. Its mandate spans global real estate securities, real estate investment trusts (REITs), real estate-backed listed entities, and money market instruments designed to deliver robust risk-adjusted returns.

Greg Rawlins, CEO of Reitway Global, emphasized that the transition aligns with the firm’s strategic vision. “At Reitway Global, our focus remains on extracting credible, risk-adjusted performance from the global listed property universe,” Rawlins stated.

“We continually seek to enhance our existing products, respond to investors’ evolving needs and adapt our offering to a changing investment landscape. This amalgamation reflects this commitment & ensures our product range remains relevant, efficient, and aligned with our objective of delivering superior long-term investment outcomes.”

Strengthening the JSE’s Global Diversification Toolkit

Adèle Hattingh, Specialist Securities Manager at the JSE, noted that the evolution of RWAGP highlights the steady maturation of South Africa’s exchange-traded product ecosystem.

“The conversion of RWAGP to a daily disclosed AMETF reflects the ongoing development of South Africa’s listed investment product landscape,” said Hattingh. “The structure provides investors with access to a professionally managed global property portfolio through a transparent, exchange traded vehicle, while broadening the range of global diversification opportunities available on the JSE.”

As part of the corporate action, former investors in the RWDVF portfolio receive participatory interests in RWAGP in accordance with the conversion ratio announced via the Stock Exchange News Service (SENS). Because the transaction involves an amalgamation into an existing portfolio rather than a brand-new listing, RWAGP remains an established JSE-listed vehicle with an upgraded operational framework.

This latest milestone expands the JSE’s broader exchange-traded product stable, which currently comprises 142 listed ETFs boasting a combined market capitalisation exceeding R274 billion.
