Petrol prices to go up

Once again petrol prices have been adjusted upward for the period in review, however, diesel and illuminating paraffin are set to decrease by midnight.

Petrol users will once again have to dig deep into their pockets after midnight tonight as prices will increase. The relentless geopolitical onslaught in the Middle East is not beneficial for the globe, with the decreased production of crude oil by OPEC countries also pushed prices up.

The Minister of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) Mr Gwede Mantashe announced the fuel prices adjustments as follows:

Petrol (93 ULP & LRP): thirty-seven cents per litre (37.00 c/l) increase.                       

Petrol (95 ULP & LRP): thirty-seven cents per litre (37.00 c/l) increase.

Diesel (0.05% sulphur): thirty cents per litre (30.00 c/l) decrease.

Diesel (0.005% sulphur): thirty-six cents per litre (36.00 c/l) decrease.

Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): nineteen cents per litre (19.00 c/l) decrease.

SMNRP for IP: twenty-five cents per litre (25.00 c/l) decrease.

Maximum LPGas Retail Price: forty-six cents per kilogram (46.00 c/kg) decrease.
