As the country marks 100 days of no load-shedding, consumers will however have to dig deeper into their pockets to purchase electricity as the National Energy Regulatory of South Africa (NERSA) has approved CENTLEC tariff increase for 2024/25 financial year.
NERSA has determined that tariff increase to the CENTLEC direct customers tariff charges will take effect from 1 July2024, the electricity tariffs have been adjusted to 12.2% across board, covering both domestic and business sectors.
The tariff increase will take effect in both Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality and Kopanong Municipality in the Free State from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
